A.U.R.P.A. BY-LAWS
Article I. Name
This group will be known as the Australasian Utilities Revenue Protection Association.
Article II. Purpose
The purpose of this group shall be the collection and exchange of ideas and experiences concerning the prevention, detection, billing and/or prosecution of revenue loss incidents. The group shall only participate in activities that do not restrict or interfere with the management or operation of any utility company. Additionally, the group shall only participate in legal activities as prescribed by law.
Article III. Membership
A. Association membership shall be limited to utility employees whose area of responsibility includes activities relating to the detection, prevention and recovery of revenue losses. However, Associate membership can be granted at the discretion of the committee.
B. Membership of the association will be terminated for the following reasons:
1. Failure to pay annual fees.
2. Termination of employment from a utility authority.
3. Breach of any by-law provision or other conditions of membership.
4. Disclosure of confidential information and/or activities of the group.
5. Good and sufficient reason as decided by the majority vote of the committee.C. Any member who believes his/her membership was terminated improperly may request to have his/her case reviewed by the committee at a regular or special meeting as the committee determines.
Article IV. Officers
The committee shall comprise of no more than ten officers including a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer. The election of these officers shall be by the general membership.
Article V. Meetings
The committee shall meet a minimum of twice annually and arrange for an annual meeting of the association.
Article VI. Annual Fees
Each member utility will be charged an annual fee of $150.00, which will allow them to name five representatives. Additional representatives will incur a membership fee of $50.00. There is no limit to the number of members per utility. The revenue is to defray the cost of activities in support of an ongoing effort to reduce revenue loss in electricity, gas and water utilities.
Article VII. Amendments to By-Laws
The by-laws can be amended only by a 2/3 (two-thirds), vote of all members present at a regularly scheduled meeting. If adopted, the amendments to the by-laws shall become immediately effective.
Article VIII. Term of Office
The Committee shall remain in office for a period of at least twelve (12) months.
